Municipal Law and Planning
The firm has, during the last 50 years, advised municipal councils in urban and rural settings on a wide variety of matters, including land use (zoning) by-laws, by-law enforcement, subdivision agreements, severance, appreciations, minor variance, rezoning applications, building permits, drainage and municipal governance. Our client base in this area extends from construction companies, through small builders, to individuals seeking permits or minor variances. The firm has a great deal of experience in representation of its varied clientele before the Ontario Municipal Board, Municipal Councils, Committees of Adjustment and the Courts. Currently one of the partners of Maclaren Corlett LLP is serving on the Committee of Adjustment for the City of Ottawa.
